With all that’s going on in the world today, it’s very easy to get sidetracked. There are multiple sources competing for our time and attention daily. Family members, friends, our jobs, current circumstances, news reports, social media and the lies Satan whisper in our ear (just to name a few). These are all inlets that feed us information, either good or bad. And if we’re not careful, whatever information we choose to retain, dwell on, nurse and rehearse is what will undoubtedly affect our mindset, our attitudes and our actions. But thanks be unto God we have help! For His Word tells us in Isaiah 26:3 that He will keep in perfect peace all who trust in Him and whose thoughts are fixed on Him! So if ever you find yourself feeling sad, angry, depressed, hopeless or even suicidal, stop and take a few moments to actually think about the thoughts that you’ve been fixed on which has ultimately set your mood. Then whatever thoughts are contrary to what God says about you and your situation, release them immediately and shift your focus! No, we do not deny the fact that life happens. But when it does, we must be determined to fix our thoughts on God and trust Him to handle whatever situation we may be facing. It is only then that we will be able to remain in perfect peace!
