Far More Valuable Than They

It’s normal to be concerned about the necessities of life, for they are most vital to our livelihood. Be it food, shelter, finances, clothing, healing or whatever the case may be. However, as Believers in Christ, we should never let concern turn into worry, fear or even panic. I’m not an avid bird watcher but there are many times I catch one flying through the air and it captures my attention. I can't help but stare as I watch that bird so effortlessly glide across the sky. Wings spread wide without a care in the world. Not worried in the least about where it’ll find the catch of worms for the day or whether or not there’ll be a landing branch for it to rest upon. It just flies… carefree in the knowledge that all its needs will be provided for…somehow. And at this, I can’t help but smile and be at ease myself. For the sight always remind me of God’s promise to take care of every single need that His Children may have! For His Word tells us in Matthew 6:26 that birds don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns because He feeds them; and that we, His Children, are far more valuable than they. So my brothers and sisters, the next time you find yourself wondering if your needs will be met. Instead of allowing anxiety to overtake you, simply reflect on the image of that carefree bird gliding through the sky. Then remember without a shadow of doubt that to God, you are far more valuable than that and rest assured, He will provide!
