Many will have assessments about your identity. There’s family, friends, those we work with, go to church with or hang out with. And if you’re an avid social media user, your followers will most definitely form their opinions about you too! With so many thoughts floating around about who others perceive you to be, if you’re not careful, you may find yourself struggling with an identity crisis because you begin to believe who/what people say you are. One day Jesus asked His disciples 'Who do men say that I am?’ They responded with the latest talk on the streets…’some say you are this one or that one.’ He followed up with a second question,‘But who do you say that I am?’ Simon Peter rightly responded,‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’ Jesus then told Simon he was blessed because the Father in Heaven revealed that information to him! So my Brothers & Sisters, it is most vital that we know and understand that our true identity comes from who God says we are and NOT who people say we are (only & unless God reveals it to them). For God lets us know in His Word that we are new creations. Citizens of Heaven and ambassadors for Christ. We are fearfully and wonderfully made, His treasured possession. And so much more! Therefore, if you really want to know who you are, get in God’s Word and let Him reveal it to you. I promise you, your life will never be the same!
